Who says?

An excerpt from my New Year's reading, "Marseille Tarot, Towards the Art of Reading", by Camelia Elias.

The Hierophant (TdM)

Now, some may be tempted to ask: "If it's oral transmission that you'll be referring to, how do we know that you're not making things up?" Indeed a legitimate question. To which I have this to say: There is no way of testing the veracity of whatever information gets passed down to us from the so-called "generation of readers", other than to point to what makes sense and what doesn't; what works and what doesn't; what's logical and what's not.

No Do-Overs

A messenger hands over a package, but if the recipient doesn’t like the contents of the box, then that’s nothing to do with the messenger. You don’t drive back to the depot and look for something that will be more pleasing.

The universe isn't fussy

“It’s my belief and experience that the cosmos at large is overwhelmingly full of willingness and desire to speak to you. It’s as if we were sitting in a small, cosy room, with all the doors and windows tight shut …and we open one of them just a crack, and it turns out to be broad daylight out there, and the light comes flooding in!

…I don’t think the universe is very fussy if you open the wrong window, open the window the wrong way, open the door by mistake, dislodge a brick, fall over and accidentally knock the shutters open with your head… I really don’t think it minds.”

What the Tarot can be made to reveal
is limited only by the understanding of the reader.
